The white car is obviously my good car. Mods so far are 15in MSW rims shod with BF Goodrich Comp T/A ZR3's in 195/50 size. Autotech solid rear lower sway bar, Autotech short shift kit, Neuspeed upper front sway bar, Techtonics Tuning 2.5 full stainless steel exaust with Hi-Po cat. Brembo rotors all around, cross drilled in front, with Mintex pads. When the 1.8 16v wears out a little more, I plan to replace it with a nice 2.0 from Techtonics with a ported and polished head on top. I'm also going to replace the lower front sway bar with either an Autotech or Neuspeed unit this year. I'll also probably add European head lights later. Other stats are it's a 1988 with 68k on the clock. Stored winters because of the upper NY salt attack. The black beast is my winter car. I've owned about 7 Scirocco's, with the 16v being number 5 and the 1980 being number 7. That old black car refuses to die with 152k on the clock on me beating on it daily. I'm convienced that the slightly taller then stock tires have saved the car by reducing RPMs at highway speeds.

As of March '97, my beatiful 87 16v now rests in VW heaven. I slammed a wall doing about 80 miles an hour and the thing is totaled. The ironic thing is that there isnt a scratch on the outside. I hit one of those medians that juts out on the bottom and I broke the rear axle and broke the front axle, control arm, sway bar, etc. The insurance company is calling it a total loss. Mike Zecher 88 16V VW.

The car is lowered 2 inches by way of Neuspeed lowering springs. I currently have upper and lower Neuspeed sway bars. MOMO exhaust and MOMO pedal covers. The car audio is taken care of by Precision Power, JL, MB Quartz and Clarion. Clarion deck, model 7770, accompanied by Clarions Graphic EQ. (920EQ) The front is handled by MB quartz along with the rear. They are powered by the PPI A404.2. The 2 10W6 JL's are powered by a PPI A600. As for the appearance...It took me a while till I came up with a design that I like. The custom paint along with the Rota Cobra 15x7 rims. Tires: 195/50/15 BFGoodrich Euro T/A. Cross drilled rotors and calipers are painted the same color as the car. Goals for the future are to re-do the entire suspention, and hope that she lasts me a long time! She has 136,000 miles as of November 28,1996. Any help or suggestions that anyone may have to give me on my suspension, please feel free to E-mail me!!! Whether it be advice or ideas. Riley McDowall. It's an '87 16v, bought two years ago in bone stock condition.

Since then I've added Euro spec Bosch lights with hi-po bulbs, Neuspeed front stress bar, Spax suspenion (non-adjustable), Supersprint exhaust header, drilled rotors with Metal Masters all around, 16" Hockenheim Rs with 205/45 Toyo Proxes FZ4s, ABD shift kit, Neuspeed SS brake lines, and Alpine and Boston Acoustics stereo gear. Plans for the future are still up in the air - I'm interested in Neuspeed Race springs and Konis, as well as a roll bar or full cage. This is my silver 87 16V with the black leather interior. Outside I have the stock 16V body kit Big H4 Euro Lamps, Euro turn signals that match the contour, Rear fogs in the light bar and tint to keep the interior just like new. My car has the Hor springs with Bilstein sport shocks, 22mm A1 upgrade front sway and 28mm rear sway bars, with the upper stress bar from Neuspeed. On the road I have 15" rims with 205 50 ZR 15 Dunlop D40 M2's. Under the hood is a K&N air filter together with a High Flow Cat to make me think I got 1 or 2 more horse power but I don't know if there is. The engine is mostly stock for now (2-97) but I want to go to 2 ltr. I have the C-box tape holder, rear fog light switch. This is my third VW watercooled car. E-mail Doug.

Rodney Huss

It is a 88' Scirocco 16V, Alpine White in color with 65K miles on it. The interior is the standard black vinyl/grey pinstripe. It has only power mirrors and A/C for accessories, but makes up for it by being in mint condition. It was bought with a stripped timing belt, so instead of repairing the problem, it was replaced with a 2.0 litre from a Passat. The addition of the 2.0, reduced the 0-60 time down to 7.5 sec. The 2.0 litre has 28K miles on it, and will soon be graced with a flowed head and Schrick cam set and exhaust system. With these modifications, the car will perform to my liking. The only possible modifications that I am considering to add are either a G60 setup or Turbo charger. I have had experience with both of these systems in other applications, but hope to use them on this vehicle. The exhaust was plagued by the common flex coupling problem, and repaired until a suitable exhaust setup can be installed. As for the braking, it remains stock, but crossdrilled rotors will be installed. The Teardrops will give way for a set of BBS RA 15X6 alloys with 195/50/15's. Suspension is being modified by adding Bilsteins and AST springs, along with L/W swaybars and stressbars. I am impressed with the car and look forward to the future, when it is completed. Montréal, Quebec, Canada. 1987 16V. These are pics of the car at speed on the St-Eustache road course. One of them is coming out of the hair pin (inside the oval part of the track) full throttle just on the verge of going into 3 gear. The second large pic, although hard to see, the inside rear wheel is off the ground. The small one is at the entrance of the chicanes with a BMW 318i (fully HARTGE modified)in front of me. It didn't stay in front very long!
