I'm from Vancouver and there are a hell of a lot of scirocco enthusiasts out here but I find that these cars are often left out of the VW media's eye. I currently own an 87 16V and am working on restoring my '83 8V and possibly setting it up for track. If anyone in the East needs parts let me know I am working on my own garage full of extra parts and because of the abundance of parts in Vancouver I would be willing to find anyone the parts they need. Who knows I may have an online store soon. Email Peter at nci@intergate.bc.ca (11-6-97)
I am a Scirocco-Fan from Germany.
in spite of driving a Scirocco II for years, my heart belongs
to Scirocco I .
I´m member of the Scirocco Club Nordbaden for years, and we are proud
and happy that there are a lot of foreign Scirocco- fans all around the
world, who love this car like we do.
We were invited by company KARMANN last month, the manufacturer of the
Scirocco. We were allowed to see the "secret hall" where proto-types and
never released versions were standing beneath "brand new" Sciroccos I
and II.
It was a very impressing moment for us to stand in the hall, where it
all began..
but unfortunately an employee of Karmann told us, that the machines and
tools for Scirocco I production had to be destroyed in January of this
year by order from Volkswagen.
Volkswagen is only interested in selling new cars and not in sponsoring
clubs and events for the Scirocco.
We were very disappointed, when we heard this.
For this reason it is much more important to save the cars that are
remaining, because now it is a fact, that there will be never new
Sciroccos in the future any more..
at last we thank you for creating such a sophisticated home-page which
represents the Scirocco at its best.
many greetings from Germany
Dirk Schneider

I have a 1980 S model, restored, lowered and set up for autocrossing. I'm very interested in any club, mailing list, or event in the Ohio or midwest area. I would appreciated any help. Jon Remington Jonbo5000@aol.com (28-6-97)
My name is Michael Halapy. I am 18 years of age and I am a proud owner of a 1985 scirocco GTX. It was bought in Germany and shipped to a town not to far from where I live right now. After owning this vehicle the guy totaled it, what a shame. My sister's boyfriend purchased it from a junkyard with a R title and completely redid it from inside out. Soon after he sold the car to my sister. And a few months ago I purchased it. I love the car to death. The one thing I like about it is there very few of these running around my area. And when people pull up next to you and laugh because it is a VW, I just dump the clutch and blow by them. I would like to have some photos and info on performance packages about my car. hook@hhs.net (28-6-97)
Hey Joe- I just wanted to write and thank you for the best site on the net. Would I say this if I had a Pearl Sea-foam Green Nissan, with those little, tiny homie rims and a fake cell-phone antenna? Probably not, but then again, how much stock can we put in the opinon of some one who wears their pants half-way-down around their seat denter? My point is this: I love our cars, Mine's no Arctic Wind, but I still wouldn't trade for 90% of the new cars out there (Nobody's offered me a 911 twin turbo for this yet) and it's nice to have your web-site to further enjoy my passion for the hot desert wind. I gotta get going to the SCIROCCO Cruise In down in Cincinnati. Thanks again and keep up the great work. You fan and fellow fortunate SCIROCCO pilot, Chris Moyer (14-7-97)
Looking for scirocco that was sold in Killeen TX in 1988, Bought new in Delmenhorst GE, in 1985. It was Bronze Met., with light brown interier, X1 kit and Sheep Skin seat covers. NO A/C Willing to talk to owner about buying car back, I miss the car. Bear9099@aol.com (14-7-97) Hello fellow volks people. I'm Chris, a 21 year old VW lover. I've beeninvolved with VWs since I was 12, when my father and I built a supped up dune buggy. Then when I turned 15, he bought me a bug and we built a 13 second motor for it (talk about pi**ing those mustangs off). Now I have progressed on to water pumpers with a 1984 Scirocco that I plan to have blistering the streets of Augusta, GA (and those mustangs). I'm looking forsome diehard VW lovers who want to start a club with fast and good looking VWs. If you're intrested e-mail me at : vcsl@usa.net or call me at(706)860-0509 (19-8-97)

I can't believe how big your page is now. I remember accessing it way
back..about a year and a half ago. I was working at the phone company and
we had just got the Internet installed in our office. Now that I am working
in my own business, I have hooked up and decided to look you up. Your doing
a great job.
We used to own a 77 Scirocco..sold it then bought it back. We decided to
restore it once again, and found the dreaded cancer under all the carpet.
So we sold it. I would like to mail you a picture of "James" in his
prime, for your picture page. He was a cool ride that's for sure. I will get
a copy made of a few of the photos we still have and send them
out...including a Scirocco still owned by my in-laws. They have hung onto
for a long time. I think that we will be restoring it soon as we can get
them to let it go. It's a 81 Scirocco SS. Can you tell me what did the SS
stand for?? Super Sport?? is my guess. Please e-mail me on this, I am dying
to know. VW Lover, Cherim Schall
